Twelve million computers have been hijacked by cyber criminals a 50% rise since 2008 with the true number likely to be higher. The report detected that USA had he largest percentage of infected computers at 18% and China second at 13%.
The botnets provide cybercriminals the infastructure required to flood the web with malware.
President Obama has made the issue of cyber security a priority.
